Overview

BerryDunn is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Consultant to join our Medicaid Practice Group in our Consulting Team. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that supports the transformation and improvement of Medicaid programs across the country. As a Staff Consultant, you will primarily support the Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES), and/or Organizational Excellence Practices, working alongside experienced professionals to deliver high-impact solutions for State Medicaid Agencies (SMA).

 

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about public health, policy, and/or Health and Human Service (HHS) technology, and who thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments. You will gain hands-on experience in project delivery, client engagement, and/or policy analysis, while helping to advance the goals of Medicaid modernization and program integrity.

 

Travel Expectations: Travel to client sites can reach up to 50% in a year.

You Will

  • Assist in delivering consulting services to State Medicaid Agencies under the supervision of experienced consultants.
  • Support projects within the Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES), Medicaid Program and Policy, and/or Organizational Excellence Practices.
  • Conduct research, perform data analysis, and contribute to the development of internal and client-facing deliverables.
  • Assist with documentation, reporting, and technical aspects of engagements.
  • Track project progress, maintain document repositories, and support quality assurance reviews.
  • Perform administrative tasks to support project and practice operations.
  • Participate in internal initiatives, including business development and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Pursue professional development through continuing education and certification opportunities.

You Have

  • A BA/BS/MS degree in Political Science, Public Health, Economics, Management Information Systems, Health Care Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in a professional work setting (internships, volunteer roles, or entry-level positions).
  • Understanding of general technology concepts and interest in Health and Human Services (HHS) technology.
  • Strong written and analytical communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to balance multiple assignments.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $65,000-$75,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
