Overview

BerryDunn is excited to introduce a brand-new opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our Assurance, Tax, and Advisory Services Support team (ATATSS). This is a dynamic leadership role where you’ll manage and supervise a newly centralized team of Document Processing Specialists, helping shape the future of operational support for our Assurance professionals.

 

You’ll report to and work closely with the Director of ATAT Services Support and collaborate with key leaders—including the Quality Assurance (QA) Partner and Assurance Partners—to ensure our assurance professionals receive consistent, high-quality support. This is a unique chance to build and evolve a role from the ground up, bringing your ideas, leadership, and energy to a team that’s ready to grow.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with candidates required to reside within driving distance of our offices in Bangor, ME, Portland, ME, Manchester, NH, or Waltham, MA. May require travel to any of the above listed locations from time to time for employee support.

You Will

  • Lead and develop a newly centralized team of Document Processing Specialists, providing day-to-day guidance, coaching, and performance support.
    • Monitor workloads and deadlines, proactively resolving conflicts and reallocating resources as needed to meet priorities.
    • Onboard new team members, ensuring they are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and support to succeed.
    • Engage your team through regular communication, feedback, and development opportunities—fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing culture.
    • Establish and maintain clear workflows, documentation standards, and quality benchmarks to ensure consistent, timely, and accurate deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with the QA Partner, QA Coordinator, and Assurance Partners to understand evolving needs and align support services accordingly.
  • Partner with the Tax Operations Manager to ensure consistency and shared best practices across operational support teams.
  • Process owner for assurance related workflows and processes already in place, such as the Admin & Processing Fee. Maintain these existing processes and make updates to the processes when needs arise, or as required.
  • Design and implement a streamlined request system for assurance team members to submit document processing needs, ensuring ease of use, clarity and efficiency.
  • Contribute to internal projects and initiatives that impact the Document Processing Team and broader ATATSS group.
  • Continuously evolve the role, identifying opportunities to improve processes, enhance service delivery, and expand the impact of the team.
  • Be hands-on when needed, stepping in to support your team and model best practices.
  • General Administrative Support, and assist with special projects, as needed.

You Have

  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Skilled in giving and receiving feedback constructively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Comfort working independently and collaboratively
  • Familiarity with document management systems and workflow tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • A passion for building processes and supporting people

Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $70,000 - $80,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
