Overview

BerryDunn is seeking a Senior Consultant with experience as a Medicaid Enterprise Systems Business Analyst. This resource would be responsible for supporting our clients as they mature their Medicaid enterprise systems (MES) programs. This position is planned to sit remotely or in one of BerryDunn’s offices servicing our Medicaid clients in the U.S. Virgin Islands. You will bring a mix of demonstrated MES domain knowledge, program and project management capabilities, exceptional organizational and self-management qualities, strong and adaptable leadership, and effective written and verbal communication skills. You thrive in dynamic environments, listen actively to diverse perspectives, and bring a collaborative, flexible approach to problem-solving and team engagement.

 

As a part of your initial client-focused responsibilities, you will be working within one of our Medicaid focused Project Management Organization (PMO) teams supporting a State Medicaid Agency (SMA). Your initial and primary focus will be supporting the SMA’s Provider Enrollment Application (PEA) and Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) implementations and helping them fulfill ongoing federal reporting requirements. As part of our consulting team focused on state Medicaid agency clients and as MES Business Analyst, you will leverage your problem-solving abilities, program and project management skills, and your Medicaid program systems knowledge to help Medicaid agencies improve the health and lives of individuals. Success in this role requires adaptability in a dynamic policy and technology environment, a collaborative mindset to work effectively with diverse invested parties, and strong active listening skills to understand client needs and deliver thoughtful, responsive solutions.

  

Travel Expectations: This role may require travel up to 25% of the time to client sites to support project needs.

You Will

  • Develop and/or contribute toward the development of project deliverables and related artifacts, including project status reports, memorandums, etc.
  • Communicate project and delivery status to our clients, team members, and other interested parties, including the facilitation of client meetings.
  • Provide oversight, facilitation, and management of select MES module implementations.
  • Provide Medicaid program and technology subject matter expertise on the impact of federal regulations, State Plan Amendments (SPAs), local policies, operational changes, and process improvement strategies.
  • Provide systems expertise with a strong understanding of the vendor marketplace and systems implementations.
  • Deliver subject matter expertise in system integration, with a focus on interfacing with federal data hubs and ensuring seamless interoperability across key Medicaid Enterprise Systems, including MMIS, SNAP, TANF, and related programs.
  • Collaborate effectively and build strong working relationships with team members, including client contacts and vendor partners, to help ensure alignment, clear communication, and shared project goals.
  • Utilize knowledge and experience to lead and project manage client projects, particularly Medicaid systems projects. This includes helping develop client deliverables such as complex analysis reports, ongoing status reports, data and technical strategy plans, and presentations. 

You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience working on Medicaid systems implementation projects in a PMO or project management capacity.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting an SMA’s MES project management capacity.
  • Project Management certification through Project Management Institute (PMP or CAPM) is preferred.
  • Experience working in a Program and/or Project Management Office within a Medicaid agency
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS), EVV and PEA processes, and/or applicable HHS solutions.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to navigate shifting priorities and evolving client needs.
  • Collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendor partners.
  • Strong active listening skills, with a focus on understanding client and team needs, responding with empathy, and integrating feedback constructively
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrently assigned tasks, often delivered with limited notice in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high standard of quality and meeting critical deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft desktop applications and standard document repositories such as MS SharePoint.

Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $110,000 - $130,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
