Overview

The Valuation Manager is responsible for overseeing the valuation processes for various entities, client types, and assets, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role involves managing workflow, driving results, demonstrating business acumen, providing exceptional client service, ensuring quality control, networking internally and externally, and developing others. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, extensive experience in valuations, and a deep understanding of industry standards and regulations.

You Will

  • Lead engagement teams in the execution of complex projects that serve our clients’ critical valuation and financial consulting needs:
    • Financial Reporting – You will work with clients to develop analyses required for the preparation of their financial statements, across a wide array of contexts (purchase price allocations, intangible asset impairment analyses, issuance of stock based compensation, etc.).
    • Transaction Advisory Support – You will work on engagement teams assisting clients in key strategic decisions relating to mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other transactions.
    • Trust & Estate Valuation – You will undertake valuations for succession planning, estate planning, and tax reporting purposes for gift and estate tax, transfer of assets, etc.
    • ESOP Valuation – You will assist engagement teams in preparation of financial models to help advise clients with key decisions relating to feasibility, transaction structure, and ongoing valuation reporting needs.
  • Perform in-depth client, industry, competitor and market research
  • Develop, populate, and review complex valuation and financial projection models
  • Perform complex enterprise valuation analyses of companies across a broad spectrum of size, industry, and business lifecycle phase
  • Perform value allocation analyses for companies with complex capital structures
  • Perform complex intangible asset and contingent liability analyses applying Option Pricing Method and other advanced methodologies
  • Lead the engagement team in delivering on valuations, and direct all phases of planning and administration for those services
  • Communicate with business owners, financial management, investors, lenders, legal teams and other parties to ensure delivery of exceptional client service.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in valuations, with a proven track record of managing valuation projects and teams.

Certifications: Professional certifications such as CFA, ASA, or similar are highly desirable.

 

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in valuation software and tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

Knowledge: In-depth understanding of valuation methodologies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $110,000 - $140,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
