Overview

BerryDunn is seeking a Contingent Senior Consultant with knowledge of Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) to join our Project Oversight and Quality Assurance team. You will join a core team tasked with providing IV&V reports and document reviews for state government IT projects. This position is planned to sit remotely, with travel to client sites across North America. You will report to the Project Oversight and Quality Assurance practice lead. 

 

Travel Expectations: Willingness to travel up to 50% in support of client engagements/projects is required.

You Will

  • Provide enterprise architecture advisory services (i.e., assessing business architecture, data architecture, solution architecture, cutover and data migration, technical architecture, and/or security architecture)
  • Provide technical advisory services to state clients and their system integration vendors for design/configuration and implementation of enterprise-wide solutions (e.g., ERP, tax and revenue, workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance, licensing/permitting, and/or IT service management systems)
  • Providing IV&V, project audit, and project health assessment services, including:
  • Participate in marketing and business development activities, including:Reviewing and providing feedback on system architecture being implemented
    • Reviewing and providing feedback on technical/development best practices being used
    • Reviewing and providing feedback on client and vendor technical deliverables
    • Preparing for and conducting fact-finding activities (i.e., stakeholder interviews, surveys, meeting observations, and document review) to assess technical aspects of client projects
    • Drafting technical findings for state government IT projects
    • Presenting technical findings and recommendations to clients
  • Participate in marketing and business development activities, including:
    • Attending conferences
    • Leading/participating in prospective client business development meetings
    • Developing responses to RFPs in collaboration with BerryDunn’s Business Development team

You Have

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS). May substitute four years of applicable experience for degree.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Experience providing IV&V, project audit, and/or project health assessment services preferred
  • Experience providing technical recommendations on software implementation projects, including a focus on: requirements management; database management; data migration; operations and production support; interfaces and integrations; release management; disaster and recovery planning; testing and defect management; configuration management; networks; system performance; database design and management; technical, applications, and data architecture design; and security management.
  • Deep knowledge of various SDLC methodologies, particularly Agile, and related processes/artifacts
  • Ability to balance multiple assignments and achieve quality results in a timely manner required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication including tactful communications with difficult messages
  • Ability to review compliance language and perform gap analysis
  • Excellent analytic, problem-solving and organizational skills required.
  • Knowledgeable in quality assurance/control procedures and demonstrated proactive problem management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a team setting.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $90,000 to $130,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
