Overview

Our Local Government Practice Group (LGPG), Enterprise Organizational Development Practice is seeking an experienced Organizational Change Management (OCM) practitioner to join our team. This will involve integrating into and providing support to an existing team of OCM practitioners—including a mix of client, BerryDunn, and in some case external partner staff. Such involvement includes working on OCM efforts as a team, as well as leading certain aspects individually. You should have experience leading OCM efforts for a variety of change events, including assessing stakeholder change impact/readiness and developing/executing OCM plans to address differing levels of change impact/readiness. Because we serve a national client base, travel for this role is estimated to be 30%.

In client engagements, you will apply your OCM knowledge and experience to support the desired change, through assisting client staff members with embracing and adopting the change. This will require both providing advice/guidance to our client and taking direction/guidance from client collaborators—and working in collaboration with all members of the existing OCM team. This frequently involves interactions with front-line client staff through executive leadership.

Internally to LGPG, you will help advance our OCM service offerings through formalizing our methodologies, establishing tools and templates, and supporting the development of practitioners around you. You will bring a mix of expert-level OCM and Organizational Development (OD) capabilities, exceptional organizational and self-management qualities, strong leadership and teamwork capabilities, and effective written and verbal communication skills.

There is immense opportunity for growth and career development within the firm and with this position. The chosen candidate will be positioned at the forefront of growing and leading our work in the local government OCM/OD space. We are also supportive of training/education for continuous professional development.

Travel Expectations:  Up to 30% travel to client sites is anticipated.

You Will

As an OCM consultant:

  • Help develop and execute an OCM strategy appropriate to the client’s environment
  • Help develop and execute a comprehensive OCM plan, and related subsidiary plans
  • Lead and execute various OCM activities, and work in collaboration with other OCM team members to execute various OCM activities to help impacted parties embrace change
  • Manage and report the status and progress of assigned OCM activities to the client
  • Help develop and conduct OCM interventions and events
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and/or discussing OCM related deliverables
  • Provide frequent, clear, and consistent communication to the client, interested/involved/impacted parties, project team members, the SI vendor, and OCM team members
  • Help to identify and address OCM-related risks and issues

As a LGPG team member:

  • Partner with other practitioners to formalize our methodologies, tools and templates
  • Contribute to the development of other OCM practitioners on the team
  • In partnership with our internal team, support business development and opportunity management activities to respond to local government OCM opportunities
  • Participate in marketing and business development activities, including writing blog posts and participating in prospective client business development meetings

You Have

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience implementing OCM practices for projects using an industry standard change management framework
  • Experience working in a local government setting, or other public or regulated sector
  • Formal OCM/OD educational degrees and/or certifications (e.g., Prosci® or ACMP®) are a plus
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, Agile or Scrum training are a plus
  • Deep knowledge in, and experience with, OCM as a discipline (i.e., experience as a change manager, developing and executing change management plans)
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and monitor OCM activities
  • Demonstrated ability to measure change readiness, continually reinforce change, and address resistance to change
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and conduct OCM trainings and presentations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to collaborate with clients and team members
  • Ability to balance multiple assignments and achieve quality results in a timely manner
  • Ability to build and sustain positive working relationships with diverse teams
  • Ability to draft OCM status reports and client communications/deliverables in a professional and positive/constructive manner
