Overview

BerryDunn is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our State Government Practice Group, focused on serving our state Health and Human Services (HHS) agency clients. As a Senior Consultant, you will have the right mix of demonstrated data governance, data quality, data conversion, and data integration knowledge, skills, and experience, exceptional organizational and self-management qualities, strong leadership and client-facing capabilities, and effective written and verbal communication skills. You will have 5+ years working with and/or for state government agencies for HHS programs (such as Public Health, SNAP, TANF, Behavioral Health, Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, Child Care, Child Welfare, and Aging), and you will be comfortable working in many different environments within state government. You will serve as the senior analyst and subject matter expert on projects, including performing data-related tasks and developing data-related deliverables. Data-related certification and IT, management consulting, and project management experience is preferred, and the right candidate will be comfortable working with clients on IT- and policy-related projects. Experience with business development (e.g., writing proposals for new projects) and staff development is also preferred as these are important aspects of this role.

You will be based in one of our physical office locations or remotely, and you will report to the HHS Practice Area Lead Principal.

Travel expectations: Travel can range up to 50% depending on client and project needs.

You Will

  • Serve on BerryDunn project teams consisting of business analysts, technical analysts, and other staff on providing services for state HHS agency clients, such as project management; IT system planning and procurement support; business process improvement/analysis; organizational and operational assessments; strategic planning; IT and data governance; data quality, migration, conversion, and integration assessment and planning; workforce assessment and development; independent verification and validation (IV&V); implementation and IT solution vendor management/oversight
  • Support delivery of services to clients on time and within budget, including contributing to development of deliverables such as data quality plans, data migration and conversion plans, data governance plans, organizational/operational assessments, needs assessments, gap analyses, requirements traceability matrices (RTMs), IT solution vendor procurement documents, federal Advance Planning Documents, and IV&V reports
  • Contribute to project approaches and work plans, and help to coordinate task assignments across project team members accordingly
  • Inspire and motivate the project teams you participate in or lead, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients
  • Facilitate meetings and interviews with client stakeholders with confidence and professionalism
  • Maintain a strong focus on providing high quality services and deliverables, in adherence with BerryDunn's Consulting Quality Management Program
  • Play a role in developing staff; contribute to maintaining and building a positive, fun, and innovative HHS team culture; and participate in and/or lead training and other learning and development activities

You Have

  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years working with data governance, data quality, data conversion, and data integration
  • 5+ years experience working with and/or for state government agencies is highly preferred.
  • Data- or technology-related education, experience, and/or expertise
  • Data-related certification(s)
  • Knowledge of state government HHS programs and services
  • A strong customer focus 
  • Demonstrated experience working with project teams
  • Experience in and a desire to coach and mentor junior team members
  • An ability to balance strong attention to detail with a focus on the bigger picture
  • Effective organizational skills, and the ability to remain calm and focused during busy or challenging times
  • Excellent written communication skills, including documenting complex issues succinctly and logically
  • Excellent verbal and presentation skills, including articulating complex issues to a variety of audiences
  • The ability to balance multiple assignments and achieve quality results in a timely manner
  • The ability to create and sustain positive working relationships with staff and diverse constituencies and to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Microsoft (MS) Office suite skills and experience, including MS Project, Visio, and Excel

Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $120,000 - $135,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
