Overview

BerryDunn is seeking a Tax Manager Estate & Trust to join our Tax Practice Group. You will join a core team working with our gift, estate and trust clients as well as high net worth individuals. This position is planned to be based either in our Waltham, MA, Manchester, NH, Portland, ME or Bangor, ME office locations or remotely to support client work. You will report to the Tax Principal. 

You Will

  • Prepare and review gift, estate and fiduciary income tax returns 
  • Provide tax planning and consulting to high-net-worth clients for individual and estate income taxes 
  • Research and consult on various gift, estate and trust related issues 
  • Maintain strong relationships with a highly proactive approach to serving clients 
  • Coordinating with Principals and staff to ensure timeliness and effective communication for proper planning of engagements 
  • Maintain knowledge of new tax issues and general business trends that affect clients 

You Have

  • Bachelor's degree and CPA license  
  • 6+ years’ experience in a similar role managing engagements, clients and staff 
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in tax compliance and planning for estate, gift, fiduciary and high net worth individual tax clients 
  • Highly capable of managing, developing and mentoring a team of tax professionals 
  • Ability to effectively delegate work as needed 
  • Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills as well as decision-making skills 
  • Success working collaboratively in a team environment 
  • Executive presence and ability to act as primary client contact for preparation and presentation of issues and resolutions to clients 
  • Exceptional client service, presentation and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and nurturing outstanding client relationships. 
  • Strong leadership, business development, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring skills, 
  • Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology. Experience with CCH Axcess and Engagement a plus 

Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $110,000 - $135,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
