Overview

Our State Government Practice Group (SGPG) is seeking an experienced Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) Consultant to assist a current state government client on a potential IT services/operations modernization project. You should have experience leveraging and institutionalizing IT governance, management, services, and operational best practices and frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT, SFIA, NIST, TOGAF, CIS, CMMI, ISO, SAFe, and PMI) to help our client optimize their operations in a rigorous and comprehensive manner. The candidate filling this position can be located remotely, anywhere in the United States, or can be located in any one of our physical offices. However, please note that our current client is located in Phoenix, AZ (i.e., MST time zone).

You will support our current state government client by applying your knowledge and experience in IT governance, management, services, and operations by collaboratively implementing a multiyear IT services/operational maturity plan, in conjunction with an ongoing (separate, but related) ITSM system implementation project.

In addition to the above, you will assist future state government clients with:

  • Assessing their current and desired IT governance and management maturity and developing/implementing multiyear plans to incrementally close their maturity gaps.
  • Conducting organizational assessments (including assessing staffing structure/models and processes) and providing detailed recommendations for improvement, including implementation plans/roadmaps.

You will bring a mix of exceptional organizational and self-management qualities, strong leadership capabilities, ability to grow and sustain a team, effective written and verbal communication skills, and a willingness to travel.

Travel expectation: Approximately 50% travel to client site is anticipated to support the potential project for the current client, as well as to client sites for future projects.

You Will

As an ITSM Consultant for our current and future state government IT department client projects, you will:

  • Lead and support the delivery of services to clients on time, within scope, and within budget, including assigning and managing staff and creating work product.
  • Serve as project manager and/or lead on client projects across the country, supporting client work and deepening team knowledge.
  • Develop project deliverables for clients.
  • Communicate project and delivery status to our clients, team members, and other stakeholders, including the facilitation of client meetings.
  • Work with BerryDunn contractors to ensure their proper delivery of project deliverables.

As an SGPG team member, you will:

  • In partnership with our internal team, support business development and opportunity management activities to respond to state government IT department opportunities.
  • Participate in marketing and business development activities, including writing blog posts and participating in prospective client business development meetings.

You Have

  • Five or more years’ experience leading or consulting on IT operations using IT governance, management, services, and operational best practices and frameworks (including ITIL and/or COBIT) to help IT entities/departments optimize their operations in a rigorous and comprehensive manner.
  • Knowledge of all ITIL management practices and experience.
  • ISACA (i.e., COBIT, CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT), DevOps, ITIL, BRM Institute, and PMI/Scrum/Agile certifications (a plus, but not required)
  • Experience facilitating meetings and public speaking with large groups in person as well as in a virtual environment.
  • Ability to balance multiple assignments and achieve quality results in a timely manner.
  • Willingness to work in a small team setting, often developing deliverables for managerial review on your own.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and logical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to build and sustain positive working relationships with diverse teams across multiple time zones.
  • Ability to draft client-facing reports/communications in a professional/constructive manner.
