Overview

We are looking for a thoughtful, creative, and success-oriented Business Valuation Intern to delve into the world of business valuation in support of our Valuation Services Group as we work with our clients, predominantly privately held business owners. You will gain hands-on experience with critical business processes as part part of this experience. Our Business Valuation Intern, will bring a passion for analyzing and solving problems, strong attention to detail, an ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines and a natural curiousity about how businesses work. This is a full-time internship opportunity based in our Portland, ME heaquarters.

You Will

  • Research and Analyze Business Value:  Participate with team members in the assessment and value review of client acquisitions/sales opportunities. Analyze financial and operational readiness to develop your understanding of the valutaion process alongside senior staff members.
  • Research Markets: Conduct thorough research on a variety of industry verticals and economic factors impacting clients across markets.
  • Client Interaction: Collaborate with business owners and key decision makers from a wide range of industries, gaining exposure to diverse business practices.
  • Produce reports: Create valuation reports that document value with a high level of detail and professional presentation.

You Have

Additional Requirements: 

  • Currently enrolled as a student in an Finance, Economics or Business-related program
  • Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week during the summer session
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Strong analytical, communication (written & verbal), and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $28.00 per hour. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
