Overview

As a Maine-based firm, BerryDunn is looking to expand our local team. BerryDunn is seeking a Senior Consultant with systems development, testing management, and project management to join our Medicaid Practice Group. As a Senior Consultant, you will have an initial focus supporting New England client(s) as a Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) Testing Manager in their efforts to manage MES projects. As part of our consulting team focused on State Medicaid Agency (SMA) clients, you’ll leverage your healthcare expertise and experience in project management to help Medicaid agencies improve the health and wellbeing of their communities.

 

BerryDunn is seeking an experienced MES Testing Manager, preferably with experience in state government, health IT, and the Health and Human Services (HHS) industry. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact; manage the activities of the team; develop and update the project plan; manage project constraints; facilitate meetings; participate in deliverable development and walkthroughs; help ensure the team adheres to performance standards; and deliver project status updates.

The MES Testing Manager will be responsible for the management, reporting, and achievement of project objectives, management of their team, and management of the project areas’ activities, schedule, quality, and resources. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated background and experience in state HHS IT systems development, testing management, and project management. Medicaid specific background with experience in Medicaid provider enrollment, claims processing, member eligibility and enrollment, and/or financial management is preferable.

 

This position can be remotely-based or in our office in Portland, Maine. You will report to and partner with senior management in our Medicaid team both for client work, career development, and development of your coworkers. With a growth mindset, you will drive your development with the support of a learning and development culture. You will report to senior leaders in the MPG, and will help clients nationally with your initial focus being on our clients in New England.

 

Travel Expectations: Approximately 50% travel to client sites is anticipated to support projects. 

You Will

  • Manage the preparation and execution testing team(s) activities, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Analyze, manage, and support of the State Medicaid Agency’s (SMA) testing effort(s).
  • Create and update project deliverables such as UAT test execution reports.
  • Provide leadership and support of the solution’s Operational Readiness Testing (ORT) activities.
  • Assist in the development, review, distribution, and presentation of project status reports.
  • Assist with the identification of project action items, risks, and issues.
  • Conduct research related to specific solution requirements.
  • Perform review of and manage performance in accordance with vendor deliverables (such as system integration testing (SIT) test cases and test results and test plans).
  • Develop, analyze, and provide subsequent review of testing dashboard level reporting on testing progress as well as identified defects.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, and team.
  • Support and participate in project meetings, including vendor design sessions.
  • Provide frequent, clear, and consistent communication to the client, team members, vendor, and direct reports
  • Perform assigned tasks efficiently and effectively, asking questions when instructions are unclear.
  • Participate in staff/team meetings and trainings.
  • Assist in the facilitation of SMA involvement in the testing effort.
  • Provide functionality and/or technical expertise in resolving inquiries from other teams about solutions within their area of specialization.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree (a bachelor’s degree can be replaced with an additional four (4) years related experience).
  • Five (5) years of experience in the development and management of testing efforts
  • Experience developing test plans and test cases; as well as knowledge of data analysis
  • Three (3) years of demonstrated experience in a Testing Manager role supporting a State Medicaid Agency or a large healthcare provider management organization of a similar size.
  • Demonstrated ability to confidently facilitate meetings and present complex concepts to stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple assignments and achieve quality results in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated ability to create and sustain positive working relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to perform and thrive in an ambiguous and changing environment

Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is an annual salary of $110,000-$150,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
