Overview

BerryDunn is seeking a Medicaid Project Manager who will be responsible for the management, reporting, and achievement of project objectives, including the schedule, quality, resources, and budget for multiple Medicaid business initiatives and activities that state Medicaid agency clients may undertake. This individual will bring a mix of demonstrated project management capabilities, exceptional organizational and self-management qualities, strong leadership capabilities, effective written and verbal communication skills, and a willingness to travel.

 

This position is planned to sit remotely to support client work in Charleston, West Virginia, and in other states and territories. This position can also be based at BerryDunn’s offices in West Virginia, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Arizona, New Hampshire, or Puerto Rico.

 

The Medicaid Project Manager will report to and partner with senior management in our Medicaid team both for client work and career development, and will report to a Principal in BerryDunn’s Medicaid Practice Group.

 

Travel Expectations: We anticipate that up to 50% of travel to client sites will be needed to support projects.

You Will

  • Lead and support in the design, development, and implementation of Medicaid systems on time, within scope, and within budget, including assigning and managing staff, and creating work products.
    • Potential to lead projects focused on managed care, and Medicaid program and policy programs and initiatives
  • Deliver frequent, clear, and consistent communication to the client, team members, vendor, and direct reports
  • Develop, review, distribute, and present project status reports
  • Lead the documentation of project action items, issues, risks, and decisions
  • Oversee deliverable review facilitation, tracking, and maintenance
  • Lead staff/team meetings and trainings
  • Participate in marketing and business development activities, including writing blog posts, attending conferences, participating in industry groups, leading/participating in prospective client business development meetings, reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and assisting with go/no-go decision-making, and developing responses to RFPs in collaboration with BerryDunn’s Business Development team

You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree - May substitute four years of applicable experience for degree.
  • At least 5 to 7 years of public sector experience; experience with state Medicaid and/or health and human services agencies, and/or health plans preferred
  • Experience working in a national or regional consulting firm, with the State, or at Medicaid vendors on system design and implementation of Medicaid enterprise systems desired
  • Experience supporting projects related to Medicaid policy, Medicaid research, regulatory analysis, waiver development, program development, and stakeholder engagement desired
  • Experience developing, editing and presenting summaries, reports, and presentations of complex information and data for project(s) and client team(s)
  • Strong research skills, and ability to synthesize and present information from sources such as vendors and state and federal regulations
  • Experience estimating and maintaining resource projections for responsible tasks

Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $125,000 - $140,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
