Proposal Writing/Business Development
Regular Full-Time


BerryDunn is seeking a skilled Senior Proposal Writer with excellent writing, strategy, project management, and communication skills to join our growing Business Development team. You will be driven and success oriented, with strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities while working with team members based throughout the country.*This position could be remote, or based in any of our office locations.


You Will:

  • Drive the development of compelling, compliant, and responsive proposals that effectively convey BerryDunn’s strengths to clients and prospects
  • Work collaboratively with firm leadership, subject matter experts, compliance, and support functions to meet strict proposal deadlines
  • Support the full proposal development lifecycle—from opportunity identification and proposal development through submission, orals, and debriefs
  • Analyze solicitation documents and provide effective direction to the team regarding the proposal outline, response requirements, and proposal development schedule
  • Work on multiple proposals simultaneously at different stages in the proposal process
  • Develop original content and tailor existing content from our proposal library to meet specific proposal requirements
  • Ensure the quality and compliance of final proposal documents
  • Conduct debriefs and lessons learned sessions
  • Conduct competitive research and analysis
  • Track and maintain opportunities in Salesforce
  • Review and update proposal content on a regular basis
  • Support proposal delivery and production activities as needed
  • Attend and assist in preparing for industry conferences, events, meetings, and conferences
  • Support proactive lead generation efforts


You Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in proposal, grant, business, or technical writing, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Excellent writing, editing, organization, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and function effectively as a member of a team
  • Proven ability and comfort level working effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and strict deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Project management, leadership, and diplomacy skills, with a customer service focus
  • Innovative in solving problems and finding information
  • Proficient in internet research
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Project, Visio, Excel) and PowerPoint, with the ability to use built-in styles and develop clean, well-formatted documents
