BerryDunn is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Medicaid Practice Group. As part of our consulting team focused on state Medicaid agency clients, you’ll leverage your problem solving abilities, along with project management and Medicaid knowledge to help Medicaid agencies improve the health and lives of individuals. You’ll be the success partner for Medicaid agencies in building healthier communities and stronger futures.


This position can be remotely-based or in one of our offices in Portland, Maine, or Charleston, West Virginia. You will help clients nationally with an initial focus on our client in Puerto Rico. You will report to and partner with senior management in our Medicaid team both for client work and career development. With a growth mindset, you will drive your development with the support of a learning and development culture.


Travel Expectations: Approximately 50% travel to client sites is anticipated in the future to support projects.


You Will:

  • Build relationships with project team members including client contacts, stakeholders, and vendor contacts.
  • Communicate project and delivery status to our clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
  • Use your knowledge and experience to lead and project manage client projects, particularly Medicaid systems projects. This includes helping develop client deliverables such as complex analysis reports, ongoing status reports, data and technical strategy plans, and presentations.
  • Facilitate meetings and training with the project team including the client and client vendors to achieve project goals.
  • As part of a firm that emphasizes lifelong learning, you will develop your own career plan and mentor junior BerryDunn team members.
  • Participate in marketing and business development activities, such as writing blog posts, attending conferences, participating in industry groups, leading/participating in prospective client business development meetings, reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), assisting with go/no-go decision-making, and developing responses to RFPs—in collaboration with BerryDunn’s Business Development team.


You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or years of experience in substitution of a degree
  • Experience project managing Medicaid systems implementation projects such as Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) modules or Eligibility systems
  • At least 3 years of Program Management experience
  • Demonstrable experience leading junior team members
  • Experience working with Medicaid vendors on system implementations
  • Knowledge of federal partners/CMS
  • Experience leading work in the Medicaid field along with supporting skills such as meeting facilitation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Written and verbal fluency in English and Spanish is a plus
