Our Management and Information Technology Consulting Group (MITG) is seeking to an IT Security Consultant in our Phoenix, Arizona office to serve our clients. BerryDunn has a long history of working collaboratively with clients to provide independent and objective consulting and IT assurance services that address challenges associated with organization, management, and information technology.

The individual we seek has a mix of technical assessment capabilities, an understanding of security concepts, and strong communication skills. The right candidates will work collaboratively across our team to evaluate and advise our clients to help them improve, control, secure, manage, and evaluate their technology environment, information systems and internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Provide IT security and technical knowledge to the evaluation and analysis of IT security risks of client projects.
  • Recommend solutions based on industry best practices.
  • Assist in the creation of concise summaries, reports, and presentations to communicate analyses, findings, and recommendations.
  • Assist with project management tasks such as tracking and reporting project progress, maintaining a project document repository, and reviewing deliverables for quality assurance.
  • Develop an understanding of the general consulting process, and assist in providing consulting services to MITG clients under the supervision of more experienced consultants. Ability to apply consulting skills in team environment.
  • Adapt to work in a wide variety of systems environments and industries.
  • Communicate and interact with clients in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Participate in staff/team meetings and training and work effectively as a team player on multiple client projects.
  • Continue to grow professionally through a program of self-development and formal continuing professional education programs.

Travel Expectations: We anticipate that up to 50% travel to client sites will be needed to support projects.

Qualifications

  • 2-5+ years of Information Security or industry experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems Management, Business with an IT focus, or equivalent work related experience
  • Understanding of overall security concepts, network architectures, IT systems, and cloud-based services
  • Experience with firewalls, routers, networks, and security frameworks (such as NIST, ISO)
  • Understanding of security testing tools and techniques
  • Ability to balance multiple assignments and achieve quality results in a timely manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytic, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with all or most aspects of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Visio

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and familiarity with security regulations and standards
  • Experience with assessing networks and analyzing security audit logs (e.g., firewall, switch/router, SIEM)
  • Experience in the implementation or assessment of PCI, GLBA, HIPAA, NIST, ISO and other IT frameworks and standards
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CISA, CRISC, or CISSP
